Auburn University Administrators Dedicates their New Airport Terminal

The administrators of Auburn University devoted the new airport terminal at the Auburn University Regional Airport.
They assembled here on Friday afternoon to devote the new airport facility.
According to Jay Gogue, the university president that this new facility will serve well in east Alabama for the coming future to develop the economy, providing quality services for the people as well as supporting their educational programs.
Auburn City Mayor Bill Ham who is also serving as the chairperson of the new airport advisory board, acted as the host at the dedication right. Some of the guest speakers also include Opelika City Mayor Gary Fuller, Representatives Ham, Hubbard, Gogue and Bill English, a Lee County Probate Judge.
The airport is own and operated by the university itself and it is the only university-owned airport in the state. The local governments will be paying the expenses about $5.5 million as an effort to develop the potential boost of the economy within the region.
The new airport terminal includes a flight planning area, crew lounges and shower rooms for pilots while waiting on travelers. It also has two conference rooms, which will enable out-of-town executives meeting the local heads at the airport. It likewise incorporates a heating and refrigerating catered foodstuff and an office area for airport employees.
Over 5,000 square feet of space for lease is centered for aviation related businesses that include area after the lobby available for car rental agencies.
This innovative airport terminal is the latest developed airport facility.
A newly created entrance way was built to allow the visitors to enter the Glenn Avenue coming from Auburn, or entering the Frederick Road coming from Opelika.
The airport was named to Auburn University Regional Airport and Robert G. Pitts Field from Auburn Opelika Robert G. Pitts Airport last year.
